Currently, there are no updates regarding The Artichoke Restaurant as it is not currently advertising with 360GrandLake. However, for those wishing to connect with the founders of The Artichoke, Jim and Dianna Sellers, you can visit them at The Lighthouse Restaurant. They are on-site every Wednesday through Saturday from 5-9 PM. For inquiries specifically about The Artichoke, it is recommended to reach out directly for the most up-to-date information. The History of The Artichoke on Grand Lake The Artichoke Restaurant, once a staple of fine dining on Grand Lake, was known for its charming setting in a century-old farmhouse, just minutes from the scenic shores of the lake. Renowned for serving high-quality steaks, chicken, and seafood, The Artichoke provided an elegant yet cozy atmosphere where guests could enjoy a relaxing meal. The menu included favorites like steak soup, Syrian Salad, Whole Fried Potatoes, and a unique shrimp dish prepared in three different ways. Highly recommended was the house-made artichoke and spinach dip, served with pita points, and the fresh asparagus grown right on the restaurant's property. The Artichoke’s Founders – Jim and Dianna Sellers After years in the food service industry, Jim and Dianna Sellers relocated to Grand Lake from Oklahoma City, where they had owned a large catering business. Upon finding a property that housed an old farmhouse and ample space for a commercial greenhouse, they decided to make it their own. The property, known as The Potting Shed, had the perfect setting for what would become the Artichoke Restaurant. They transformed the farmhouse into a cozy dining space, adding a modern kitchen to the east side of the house. The kitchen space was turned into a bar area, affectionately known as the "Cheers Bar" of Grand Lake. With only 11 bar stools, it became the place to meet new friends and catch up with old ones. A Commitment to Quality and Community For over nine years, The Artichoke served the Grand Lake area, earning recognition as one of the Top 100 American Cuisine Restaurants in the country. It was also named “Where to Eat at Grand Lake” by the Grand Lake Association in 2013. Jim and Dianna, with their combined decades of culinary experience, crafted a menu that combined Jim’s love for steak, chicken, seafood, and fresh produce from their own garden. Throughout the growing season, they used homegrown vegetables and herbs from their garden, ensuring that every meal was made with the freshest ingredients. The Artichoke’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those who experienced its exceptional food, family-friendly atmosphere, and unique history at Grand Lake.
