He is deeply passionate about making the Word of God relevant to 21st-century living, ensuring that the teachings resonate with the diverse needs of our congregation. Kevin and Shannon are proud parents of four children: Katie (27), Seth (23), Grady (18), and Olivia (16). Shannon Baker is not only a devoted pastor's wife but also an ordained pastor with Foursquare. With over 30 years in full-time ministry, she cherishes her role in supporting her husband and nurturing the congregation. Shannon has a passion for cooking, reading, decorating, and organizing. She also enjoys mentoring women through The Home Experience, a program designed to enrich lives and build community connections. Together, the Bakers embrace the joys and challenges of raising their family in a rural community, fostering a sense of belonging for everyone they meet. Founded in 2015, SYNC (Spavinaw Youth & Neighborhood Center) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the educational, cultural, and social development of the youth in Spavinaw and its surrounding communities. SYNC was established in response to the challenges faced by the town of Spavinaw over the years, with the mission to provide support, resources, and opportunities for the next generation. Our Mission At SYNC, we aim to achieve several key goals: Youth Development: To promote the educational, cultural, physical, and social development of Spavinaw’s youth by offering educational and recreational services based on positive character-building practices. Community Engagement: To encourage community involvement by fostering neighborhood interest and positive relationships, creating an environment where youth and residents can work together to become successful in the Spavinaw community and, when applicable, their tribal communities. Veteran Support: To offer guidance and assistance to veterans in developing and filing claims, as well as acquiring services from the VA and other organizations that support veterans. Community Collaboration: To provide a conduit for collaboration among citizens, tribal entities, churches, businesses, and organizations within the community, working together to improve the city, the community, and the well-being of its residents.
