Honey Creek Landing Marina has been Grand Lake’s favorite nautical hub for over 15 years. A full service marina, Honey Creek has over 100 covered slips, ranging from 30 to 60 feet, available for either annual or overnight rentals. We have a pump-out station, 24-hour fueling site with diesel and no-ethanol gas, newly restocked ship store featuring nautical themed items and lake accessories, lounge and renovated bathhouse, and a convenience store. We also offer full service boat repair and sales. We take immense pride in being a pillar of the community, and are dedicated to providing our customers with a safe and enjoyable Grand Lake experience. Brian and Lessie Dickson are the proud and excited new owners of Honey Creek Landing Marina. After boating on Grand Lake for over 20 years, the Dicksons relocated from their home in Wichita, KS, to be full-time Grand Lakers and residents of Grove. They bring with them their daughter Lily, and two dogs. Brian is an avid entrepreneur and Lessie is a successful business Operations Manager. Combining their unique talents and passion for the lake lifestyle, they are immensely looking forward to making new connections in the area and bringing many improvements to the property. The Dicksons have completely renovated the marina to bring it up to their standards. 98% of the dock was completely redone, and a 24-hour fueling station has been installed. Founded: 1985 Location: 268 West Broadway Avenue, Langley, OK Welcome to the Grand Lake Community Ministry (G.L.C.M.), a dedicated lay organization established in 1985 with the purpose of providing temporary assistance to individuals and families in need. Our mission is to offer help in Christian love, ensuring that assistance is given without any strings attached. In addition to material support, we provide an opportunity for individuals to receive spiritual guidance from ministers of participating churches. Services Offered G.L.C.M. extends its aid through the Blue House, where community members can access various resources: Clothing Assistance: We provide clothing for individuals of all ages, including special items such as layettes for newborns, along with diapers when supplies permit. Food Pantry: Our food pantry is open from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Tuesdays and Fridays, where qualifying families receive two bags of both non-perishable and perishable food. Families with more than four members may receive additional items based on their size. Utility Assistance: For those who meet income qualifications, we offer assistance with utility bills. Please note that we do not cover deposits or reconnect fees, and we are currently unable to assist with rent, house payments, telephone services, or fuel. Current Needs We rely on the generosity of our community to keep our services running. We are currently in need of donations, including: For the Food Pantry: Ramen noodles Jelly (any kind) Crackers Peanut butter Canned meats Canned vegetables and fruits Toilet paper For Clothing and Household Supplies: Gently used infant and children's clothing Men's pants (any size) Bed linens and blankets Pots and pans Flatware Towels and washcloths Our Volunteers The Grand Lake Community Ministry is powered by a dedicated team of volunteers who generously donate their time and resources. With a lifelong passion for the outdoors and a growing eye for the artistic elements of life, I specialize in various types of photography that highlight the natural beauty of the world and the personalities of those within it. My Journey: From Adventure to Art Throughout my younger years, I immersed myself in outdoor activities such as off-road motorcycling, hang gliding, and boating on California’s Monterey Bay. Initially, I saw myself as an adventurer, someone focused on the thrill of the outdoors, rather than an artist. However, as I grew older, I started noticing the light, shapes, and patterns that others around me seemed to overlook. This new awareness led me to discover a passion for photography that I never anticipated. When I moved to Oklahoma and settled on the shores of Grand Lake, I gained the perfect environment for my newfound passion. With 60 miles of pristine freshwater at my doorstep, I regularly took my camera outdoors, capturing nature and wildlife in its endless variety. From that point on, nature and wildlife photography became my calling. Expanding My Lens: People, Homes, and Commercial Photography As I honed my skills, I also discovered the joy of capturing the essence of people. My background in counseling gave me a unique perspective on understanding personalities, allowing me to capture individuals in authentic, expressive ways. This skill set naturally evolved into capturing the beauty of homes and businesses through architectural and real estate photography. In addition to personal portraits and properties, I began to explore telling compelling stories through photos. One of my most beloved projects was The Secret Life of the Grand Lake Pelican, which gained popularity as a photo book. This led to the creation of another book, Jerry Ann’s Place, along with various photo collections paired with music and transitions, creating video-like productions that have been featured on local and national television. The official and annual reopening of Grand Lake, dubbed Welcome Back Weekend for over twenty years, The traditional Poker Run, an event that attracts nearly 400 participants in the event’s inaugural year, remains the backbone of one of the most popular off-season weekends ever unveiled on Oklahoma’s premier lake. What is Welcome Back Weekend? Welcome Back Weekend is an annual event celebrated at Grand Lake, OK. This event was started in March of 1992 by Terry Frost, the previous owner of the Cherokee Yacht Club. The weekend began with a poker run on Saturday and a showing of the hands-on Sunday. Grand Laker Terry Frost and the late Barbara Connor proposed incorporating a Chamber-sponsored “Casino Night,” which became an instant success.
